Princess Juliet Invictus – Demigoddess of Morality
Species: Alicorn Kirin (Unicorn)
Element: Shadow
Flower Motif: Violet
Voice: Hayley Atwell
Alignment: Lawful Good
Parents:
- Cave, King of the Dragons
- Caroline, Primordial Goddess of Music
Siblings:
- Arlon, God of Order
- Niomedes, Goddess of Progress and Queen of Empyrea
- Wheatley, Demigod of Ideas
- Craig, Demigod of Knowledge
- Rick, Demigod of Adventure
- Johanna, Demigoddess of Passionate Emotion
- Rebecca, Demigoddess of Logic
- Cosmo, Demigod of Determination
- Delly, Demigoddess of Curiosity
Personality:
Calm, quiet, and dignified, Juliet is a fiercely protective individual who will never allow harm to come to her family. Perceptive, inquisitive, and highly intelligent, she may sometimes be considered somewhat nosy. Shy and soft-spoken. Bookish. Exhibits signs of depression and anxiety, and is overly critical of herself and her mistakes. While trusting, her trust is difficult to earn, and she takes betrayal extremely hard. Incredibly studious and loves to read anything and everything she can get her hands on, having a particular fixation on magic – especially dark magic. Has a low self-esteem, and thinks herself worse than her siblings.
Her desire to protect her family and the mortals beneath her is her weakness; Juliet will go to any extreme in order to keep her siblings safe, even if it means hurting them to do so, if she thinks it’s for their own good. She can’t bear being wrong in her judgement and making things worse for others, as in the case of Nightmare Invictus, and thus tends to withdraw and lose the will to do anything to try and fix her mistakes under the belief that she had already ‘done enough’.
Character Inspirations:
- Morality Core (Portal)
- Twilight Sparkle/Sci!Twi (MLP:FiM)
- Alphys (Undertale)
- Toph (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
- Queen Eclipsa (Star vs. the Forces of Evil)
Tropes:
- Adorkable
- Badass Bookworm
- Dark Is Not Evil
- Disabled Deity
- Glass Cannon
- Lady Of Black Magic
- Magic Librarian
- Shrinking Violet
Other:
- Born as an undersized and nearly completely blind filly, Juliet was incredibly sickly and frail during her younger years, susceptible to common ailments that the rest of her immortal family were entirely immune to. Because of her tendency to get seriously ill, she spent most of her filly years indoors and under the doting care of her mother, obsessively reading and studying magic as a way to prove to the world that she’s not just a tiny, weak little girl that needs to be taken care of her whole life.
- Aside from Wheatley and to some extent Delly, Juliet is the only one to have known about Twilight’s heritage, and was the one to have sent her a thousand years through time in order to get the filly away from her crazed father. As a result of this, Juliet was directly responsible for her elder brother’s fall to the Announcer, and the tyrannical rule of Nightmare Invictus.
- Juliet was the former teacher and mentor of one Sombra, a mortal kirin with a talent for magic and particularly dangerous ideas regarding order. She deeply regrets everything to do with him.
- While she has very powerful magic at her disposal, and the knowledge to dish it out effectively, Juliet can’t stand to take hits. Physically frail and nearly blind without her enchanted glasses, she isn’t difficult to take out if one figures out how to get around her defences.
