So we took in a very pregnant cat (long story) And she proceeded to, that very night, welp these six little creatures under my dresser where they are currenlty living and squeeking as we speak =D
The very last, bottom kitten already has a home, and we are sure to find homes for the others once their older. Then its off to the SPCA with mama cat (if we dont find her a home before then). =D

Thats just convergent evolution, meaning because of similar environments they evolves similar shapes and abilities. However, canines and felines DID have a common ancestor millions of millions of years ago. But they split off, felines going one way, canines going another, and not long after the split, vulpines splitting from the main cainine line. Its why foxes cannot interbreed with other canids (despite all the 'folf' furries out there), and why they retain many feline characteristics (with more help from convergent evolution), such as the slitted pupils and retractable claws.
