Another one that I thought I'd posted.
Highres of my icon.
I went on a silhouetty cockpit painting binge awhile back. The image "seedless watermelon" was the result of that.

Anyway. Jake and part of Dex, flying at sunset.
Things will be busy soon. Dx

Oh man I really enjoy this picture. I have been flying home through a few sundowns, and it's the most beautiful thing to witness. The gold sun pouring warm light into the ever darkening cabin as the clouds take on subtle shade of purple and red. Then when the sun hits the clouds just right, they burn bright red as if the earth was burning with rage and fury, and the clouds were our only salvation. Very well done, and great technique! I love how the plane's interior melts together, but the characters stand out. Must fav!
Reminds me of the sunset I saw two years back over the Atchafalaya Basin... was on my way back from flying over Baton Rouge in a Cessna 172 with the instructor and a good friend of mine... we were passing over the swamp about three or four thousand feet in December when the sun started to go down. There was just this vivid orange and red reflected in the water and the clouds, with traffic passing by on the interstate and the thrum of the engine filling in the gaps in the conversation. It's one of my favorite memories, and something I'll cherish, and it seems like our man in the right seat knows precisely how I felt that night.
Truly beautiful. Instant favorite!
