I am a big star wars fan, all my friends know it because I gush about star wars at least 3 times a week. I was introduced to the PC game ''Tie Fighter'' as a 9 years old cause of my dad, so my favorite character in the franchise definitely is the imperials and their space navy, particularly the Tie Fighter Pilot and its Tie Fighter.
Just to be clear, I did not buy EA`s battlefront 2, I looked at the single player story on youtube and I was very disappointed as the narrative felt on par with a Disney ride, or the cartoon ''Star Wars: Rebels''. Characters were paper thin and the main character Iden Versio had no depth to her, changing personality on a whim depending on where the story was forcibly taking us. Plus it was just full of cameo missions playing as star wars movie characters. I am not going to encourage the predatorial practices used by EA in the latest Battlefront game and abstain from buying the game at all. (I conveniently don't have time to even play games anyway hehe)
I do play a mobile star wars game called ''Star Wars Galaxy of heroes''. Its basically a collect-a-ton turn based rpg type game. And recently they have added dark side territory battles which makes all my empire units much needed in the upcoming days. I was pretty exited and drew this doodle.
Anyway! I am all geared up to fight rebels in space or on ground, time to misguidedly restore order to the galaxy!

The way they originally built the game made it interesting at first, the full on dialogue was amazing. But after 2 or 3 planets you quickly réalise they had to cut a few corners, especially your own character's lines. Your character talks generically on those side missions and only stands out on those story based scenarios.
Next there's the MMO component that when I played it was anti coop based. Despite its beautiful backdrops and scenery, Old Republic is a painfully linear game that discourages players to explore and make friends in game. It's experience and loot system was set to give nothing to players above 10 levels of any given mobs. If say I play the game, meet another player fighting in the same area as me, and I friend him, but he has to go and I play 2 hours more than him, the next time we meet I have no incentive to go back to where he/she levels as I would get diminishes or no earnings. I know they tweaked it so that your character technically lowers its level to match mobs, but it's still a Problem at its core, what happened to good old fashion set exp amount from set mobs and consistent drops?
And lastly, my biggest beef with the game is that most MMO will give you some semblance of freedom to choose what you want to do and introduce you to an expansive world. The Old republic gives you a class system at the beginning that looks expansive, but funnels it all into a narrow narrative and sets you on the same exact paths as any other classes. And the pay wall is a huge turn off. I couldn't understand how the matchmaking system for ship battles worked, it worked with scheduling?! And everything in the game treats free players like below par non important players. Playing for free is nearly impossible and constantly puts obstacles in your way that shouldn't even exist. Free players should experience a standard challenging adventure, and pay to win players should be rewarded with exclusive stuff I agree. It makes little sense to me to make a game free to play but make it punishing to play it and make pay to win players have a standard experience.
Thats about it.

This is awesome, and just seems practical in the face of long, boring patrol missions.
On another note, Tie Fighter was my first fighter sim, too. Fantastic game, and I kinda want to go back and replay it, but I worry that the nostalgia had worn off for me. But I could properly earn my way into the Secret Order of the Empire...
