This was a difficult pic to finish. I started it as a pencil sketch, scanned it, then worked on it digitally. For the most part, the process zigzagged. The feet were very easy to ink, but the face and body weren't. Stocks were not originally part of the plan, but I had trouble getting the original idea out, so I redrew Chaos' position. He looks a bit different because I also wanted to experiment with some new eye style that I don't think I'll use again for him.
After that, the coloring and shading went really smoothly and came out very nicely. I'm quite happy with it, despite some misgivings about certain things. I don't regret at all drawing it and will gladly do it again once another idea pops up.
And if you go and watch the show, you will see that he absolutely deserves it!

Okay, I absolutely love this to bits, you made me love this Character immensely when I first saw your sketch of him. First things first the coloration and the lighting and so is pretty gorgeous imo, amplifies my liking to this picture to a considerable amount, esp the Alternative variant~ The way he is laughing, the way you captured his expression is prepossessing as hell, amalgamated with his smooth soft looking soles. I'm extremely enamored by what's going on here. I don't necessarily know his character, never saw the show yet I cannot help but become captivated by him. I'm a huuuuge fan of dapper looking reptilians as ticklees and he looks like the kinda serious type~, Gosh I really hope you are planning on tickling him for a looking while. That laughter that spouts out of his gapping haws is probably music to the ears~ <333333 Huge fan of this~
Hehe, well I'm glad to hear in such detail exactly why you liked this picture! It's very nice when you get that kind of comment. His feet are my own design because as far as I've gotten, they are not shown in any of the episodes. But, I did base the look off of his hands to an extent, which follow a similar design philosophy. I made the soles smooth primarily because of preference, but ultimately it just looked best that way.

Character even has boots which is a huge plus for me, adds extra sensitivity and I bet he had this dreaded look when you were removing them.

This turned out great! I love how the colors came out and how cute the character looks in general! I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the character's look from the costume alone, but he's started to grow on me, and your drawing here most certainly helped that ;)

It is, but it's also only if you do not romanize it. Xiao Longbao is a perfectly acceptable romanization and it also works with an early joke, since xiaolongbao is a type of dumpling and they make a reference to that in a joke in his first appearance.
