We were so very close, we two
but I had to let you go
I hope that you can understand
it was because I loved you so.
No more pain, no aching limbs,
no earthly ties that bind;
No dimming eyes, no sleepless nights,
you've left them all behind.
I lost you many months ago
and gained a broken heart.
Yet I feel you close to me
although we are apart.
Sometimes when I'm all alone,
I feel you by my side,
As if to try and comfort me
through all the nights I've cried.
I thought I saw you here today,
out the corner of my eye.
The softest fur against my skin,
heard the faintest sigh.
So wait for me at Rainbow Bridge,
Until we meet once more,
then we will walk together again
through Heaven's open door. This was a really special piece I was commissioned for by
in memory of her dog Tasha, who passed away earlier this year. I actually had a harder time with this one than I initially thought, because I had so many ideas and I really wanted to make it perfect. In the end, I settled on this one, where Tiara is walking alone in the frosty November woods and has passed a stone archway. Tasha waits for her on the other side of this archway, where everything is green, blooming and alive. My personal belief is that when our beloved pets depart this plane of existence, part of them is still here with us, always. Their spirit awaits in another place and will be reunited with us again when it is our time to cross over.
It is always a privilege to be chosen to do artwork that honors the memory of a pet, and I hope that all my indecisiveness in the beginning paid off and I've done the concept justice.

UNLESS THIS WAS MADE FOR YOU, YOU DO NOT HAVE PERMISSION TO REPOST/REUPLOAD *ANYWHERE*! Doing so is going directly against my wishes and also disrespectful of the commissioner, so be nice and ask first!

As always, your work is exceptional. I love the transition from the fall forest to the beautiful difference between that and the blooming one on the other side.
Losing a pet is never easy, they're a part of the family like any other, but this really captures how it feels when we know they'll be waiting for us on the other side. Truly touching.
