Bird People ?

Yep, never been able to find out what this is about. No doubt there are parts of the storyline we've not yet seen.

They got this map as the inside cover art of the Ladybird TR books that came out over here [Got one just for that] + Bonus its got loads of Wooly

There were bird people type characters in the Ying zoo episodes who capture the Octopedes and Gimmick. :) Course never see the land of bird people so maybe they did have something else in mind to add to the series. Some tape adventures never got turned into cartoons.

Ah you are right, there are some avian looking critters at that part of the series. Good eye, that had never registered with me.

I remember Teddy Ruxpin. He even had an awesome television show! I loved it!

It is indeed an awesome show, 'prolly one of my favourites.

I hate that I didn't get to see the last episodes. I was really into it!

Cool! These large maps aren't common so it's neat to see them out and being displayed.

I always wanted to do a video game adaption of this show since it has alot of adventure and role paying elements.

It would not surprise me if Ken Forsse (TR's creator) has thought of doing similar at one time or another.

Certainly many far less fleshed out shows have been made into video games so it's quite do-able.

All the conceptual tools are there to translate it into a video game it's just a matter of some studio deciding it would be a worthy investment. And of course they'd have to make the game and have it, ya know not suck.

For 1987 it was very ahead of it's time. The design of Grundo has alot in common with Hyrule and the numerous final fantasy worlds while still being very unique. I'd love to see it happen personaly but sadly I don't think Teddy would be too marketable with todays gaming youth.

2: I loved the show but it ended Teddy found his dad and they went home and no one wants to bring it back though they sure as hell brought back care bears with crappy redesigns no less

If I had the space I'd do the same!

I used to have two but gave one to my Neice when I gave her a Backpack Toy's version of TR.

They are printed on some decent vinyl and would probably tolerate hanging ok if decently supported.

To be fair, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be living here, but if/when I get my own place that I know I'll be in for an extended period of time, maybe I can do it then...

I was thinking of possibly putting some grommets along the top border... but that requires altering it... @_@

It's thick enough a set of grommets would probably work. :)

The TR pictured is the first one I bought, 1988 I think as WOW circled the drain.

Gosh, I was a new wee babby in 1988. I keep looking around eBay for WOW Teddies... I really want a working Teddy and Grubby pair.

If you watch eBay long enough you can find a decent deal. You probably want to look for them separately as sellers who have the pair tend to want a little too much. The hardest part with the pair is finding the cable which wasn't very robust and not easily reproducible. It is getting harder to find them in fully operable condition as well. :)

Yeah, I get the feeling that goal is gonna take some time and several individual eBay purchases... I'll at least focus on Teddy first. ^^;

Yep, there is definitely no hurry, TR was made by the thousands by WOW.

(I've never heard a real production quality for the 3 and 2 servo original models.)
