It's a known fact that most cops in fiction and the real world are simply thugs with a badge. They're paid to enforce the law, and when the law is boring, they make trouble to make their worthless existence seem necessary. The problem is there are good cops whose names are ruined by jerks like these.

It's very interesting to see that the guards don't seem to be really mad at her. She did destroy this place
together with the shark but they also seem like they're aware of the fact that she isn't violent towards the guards.
They're just citing what is going to happen due to her wrecking the place but other than that they don't seem like
they're holding a personal grudge agaist her, like when someone is known for causing trouble and make you angry
because the guy is so annoying to handle. So yeah. I think these guards (at least those who are carrying her) might
just be doing their job without personal judgement but instead carrying out orders based on the local rules.

Still mildly annoying that they think that shocking the bejesus out of Battu is neccessary or amusing as it seems.

But great comic nontheless. Really a good story to follow. ^.^

I hope Torp will be alright and they do take good care of him. Poor guy got his ass kicked so hard and looks to be in terrible shape. I do hope Battu makes whoever set this in motion pay dearly for this. I have total faith in Battu that Battu will get to the bottom of this somehow. Great job with the comic. Very dynamic and nice pacing for the whole fight...it wasn't too slow and it wasn't too fast it had a good solid pacing. Built the tension correctly and really pulled us in wanting to see more and learn whats going on and who is growing to be a thorn in Battu's side. ^_^

The only hiralante in this was the third panel. So that's the bony system of Battu xD .......sorry.

Even worse, she's about to be crucified for something she was only defending herself. Now she just might snap and kill everyone, go full demon, and/or join a gang. Not even caring about life at all.

Every single guard that is in this pic. are just shit #*$^s. Minus the cyan colored guard. He seems to be just doing his job for his paycheck. Even giving a little pity for Battu.

I gotta say, I'm enjoying this comic but right from word #1 this planet has had the most utterly fucked up 'justice system'. Absolutely everything they do—all the way from enforcement to the judiciary system and continuing on through to the prison system—appears to be exuberantly uninformed, unquestioning, arbitrary, and psychotically abusive. I guess that's how things usually work in comics, but it's picking at the corners of my suspension of disbelief. These guys are aggressively meatheaded.

Remember how big space is - this is an isolated prison on a remote asteroid, surrounded by perimiter defenses in a section of space as far out of the way as it can be. There are going to be thousands of these self-contained communities throughout the galaxy, basically places to lock the 'guilty' up and throw away the keys, and it's impossible for any regulatory board to keep monitoring them all. As long as they get 'results', the authority left in charge would be left to run the place any way they see fit. It's just Battu's bad luck to have been stuck in one of the shittier ones.

I get you, but right from the start... What were the charges, exactly? Failure to yield right of way to incoming fire?

I'm just marveling at how Battu managed to get into prison in the first place. She made planetfall with a prince of some sort (a runaway?) and someone assumed Battu was the kidnapper or else someone didn't care and had it out for Battu from the beginning.

The short bonus story currently planned for the first print volume will reveal that the Prince's family, in order to save face over the whole incident, basically threw Battu under the bus and the Prince can't do anything about it, getting a harsh lesson in what the constitutional responsibilities of ruling a planet from a position of strength actually entail.

Fair enough. Will a reference bar be added to the relevant spot in the main story line to let readers know that there's some expansion on why things are as they are?
