I am always amazed at the patterns simple mathematical fractals can generate. A while back I posted a fractal called the "Secant Star" because it was based on the Secant Method and created a star-burst pattern. I thought it was very beautiful, resembling a stained glass window. But that same fractal, by altering the starting parameters slightly, was able to produce this. I call it the "Secant Butterfly" for obvious reasons. For those curious, the Secant Method requires two initial points to start with. The first point is take from the x-y coordinates in the image. The second makes the difference between this and my previous fractal. For the star it's (0, 0) and for the butterfly it's (0, 1). Apart from that, the two algorithms are exactly the same.
