A lone hiker decided to sleep one night in the shelter of some strange rock formations, only to discover later on in the night that some of those old tales told by the Natives were true.

Coyote you understand had the ability to look either male or female, depending on how he wanted to "prank" his victims. This image was inspired by staying the night at a huge rock formation called "The Devil's Punch Bowl" in the San Gabriel Mountains. Just after sunset we heard coyotes howling, and I came up with the idea of a "Tribe" of 'morph coyotes that live very well on the scraps left behind by careless picnicers. Hence the "Modern" artifacts decorating Coyote's costume.

Odd you mention that; just afew miles from where I live in the PA Blue Mountains, there's an old Dutch legend about a tribe of anthro demon wolves living atop the highest peaks. The steam rising from them on warm days is supposed to be the smoke from their cookfires.
