I had been suffering through a pretty nasty artistic "Dry Spell" recently, so I put on the headphones and dropped my favourite Don Henley CD into the player and let my pencil "Do the dancing." This was the result which was inspired by by the guitar work in the song "I will not go quietly." This is also the second or third time I've attempted inking with a brush, and the first image I've ever coloured with markers. I just like the "Spontaneity" of the piece, and maybe it was my Muse's way to tell me not to give up quite yet.

Music always is a great means of inspiration during times of dry block.
If you asked me to be honest I'd probably have to attribute at least half of my own ideas to just slapping on a favoured artist and seeing what gears in my head start turning as a result.
On an related note, for what you claim is only the second or third time you've used a brush, that's a pretty damn good inking job.

I shall not go quietly into that dark night. For I have lived too long within the light to be overtaken by such weakness. Let not one of you fear for me, for I shall remain. My heat, my soul I give as gifts to those who believe of me, love me, have need of me. May not the fears gathered within the dark ever touch upon your souls, for I am with you. Now, and always.
(Laughs...) Ho boy. I can relate to that. I got really angry when I read about some FDA fellow who criticized doctors who were pushing psycoproctive drugs down their young patient's throats who said something like, "Thanks to the benefits of Ritalin, we'll never have to suffer another Genius like Mozart or Einstein again."
Actually, Don Henley's tune with the same title inspired the drawing. I was severely depressed because I had to move out of the Old Folks Home, and at that time I was considering moving out to the streets. My friends saved my life, but I lost a lot of my art and loads of my stuff.
