Neysa's bedroom:
"I best get dressed and get this over with," thought the black furred unicorn fem. "I am not quite sure how I let Miki talk me into this!"
"But why, Miki? Why do you want me to do this?!" asked Neysa.
"Like I said, it's a surprise! If I told you what it was it wouldn't a surprise!" the 16 year old said.
"Well, I do not know...."
Neysa saw Miki's expression change.
"No. No! Not the 'sad, soulful eyes attack'!" Neysa exclaimed, throwing one hand out as if to ward something off. "I submit! I SUBMIT!!"
"Oh, thank you! I promise you won't be sorry for it!" Miki declared, fairly bouncing in her excitement!
"I hope not," murmured Neysa as she watched the girl dash away.
Neysa held the dress over her head and let it slip down over the length of her body, tied the crossing shoulder straps behind her neck, then made a few adjustments to finish settling it into place. She turned this way and that, looking at herself in the full length mirror. It was a formal evening gown, silk white in color with silver scroll work patterning running the length of the shoulder straps. The skirt was full and was barely a millimeter or two off the floor. Her back was left bare as were her arms and shoulders. She worn a pair of dance slippers on her feet.
"This is more than a little...daring for me," she thought. "Thank the Goddess I'm not going out in public with it!"
Neysa was more used to what some would call Victorian style clothing. The type of clothing that, pretty much, left only her head and hands exposed. Not the most comfortable of clothing for a furred person but it was what she chose to wear and she was used to it.
"Well, best go and see what Miki has planned," she murmured.
Using one hand she raised the skirt some so as to avoid tripping on the hem and exited her rooms.
"I still wonder what she's up to." Neysa mused.
Turning the corner in the corridor she came to a halt at the sight of Rokko, Miki's twin brother. Barely 4' 10" tall he stood there, apparently waiting for her. The sight that greeted her eyes stunned her because, for the first time in all the years she had known him, Rokko was decked out in formal attire. Due to his wing membranes his clothing choices were limited to body suits that left them free or wearing nothing (Which he and Miki did at home.) at all. The suit he wore was mostly black with white cuffs and a row of seven silver buttons running down the center front. A black bowtie graced his neck. Giving Neysa a rueful smile he came to her.
"So, Miki roped you in on this as well," he said.
"Indeed! She did not tell me you were part of this."
"Just she didn't tell me you were," he replied.
"What is she planning!”?
"We'll find out," Rokko said, holding out one hand to Neysa.
She took it with her free hand and allowed him lead her to Miki's rooms.
With him beside her the unicorn woman glanced over at Rokko and spotted another part of his outfit.
"Tails? She had 'tails' added to your suit?"
"Yes. Guess she decided my own wasn't enough!" he replied with a grin.
Neysa smiled at the humor.
"Okay, close your eyes," Miki told them.
Neysa did so then felt Miki's hand touch on her shoulder. She felt the barest of tingles and knew that the girl was doing a size change on her. From the feel of things she was shrinking her.
"Glad she had me close my eyes. Watching the room appear to 'grow' is disconcerting."
"Alright, you can open your eyes now," Miki said.
Blinking her eyes open Neysa saw she was right. At best guess she was a bit over two inches tall. She turned her head to look at Rokko and got a surprise. Normally, she stood some seven inches taller than Rokko but, now, he was about a half a head taller than herself. Miki picked up a small, shallow walled box, crouched down, and placed it on the floor in front of the couple. They saw that the side facing them had been cut out.
"Step in and I'll carry you," she directed.
Rokko offered Neysa his arm and she took hold of it with one of her hands while lifting one side of her skirt some with her other hand then they walked forward and into the box. Miki covered the open side with one of her hands then slowly, carefully, picked the box up then stood up.
"Please close your eyes again and don't peek!" she said.
"Now what?" Neysa and Rokko thought in unisone as they complied.
Miki took a slow pace so as not to jar her passengers. Going from her small den to her bedroom she stopped in front of her grooming vanity then lowered the box to where it sat on the top surface of an object sitting on the vanity.
"Okay, walk forward five paces and stop, please. Oh, and be careful, the surface is polished!"
The couple walked out and onto a hard surface.
"Now, open your eyes."
After a few blinks their eyes adjusted. They found themselves standing on a black colored hard wood platform of some type. It was circular in shape. If they were normal sized it would have been some nine inches in diameter. At their present size it seemed more like 16 feet. Rokko want to one edge and looked down and spotted an ornate key sticking out of the side of the object. He looked up at his sister.
"This...this is one of those wind up music boxes!" he declared.
"Yes!" she whispered back. "I got it from your human girlfriend. It's for mom and dad's anniversary."
"These things usually have a figure of a dancer or dancers on them. Where are they?" he asked.
"Those are...rigid, unreal. So, I thought that I'd see about a pair who are real, live."
"Huh?"
"I have a holo recorder set up. Now I just need a pair of dancers to move in it to make a record and then it...they can be played back, projected on the top of the box while the music plays."
"And Neysa and I are to dance to provide that recording," Rokko said, catching on.
Miki nodded.
"You two are better at formal dancing then I am," she pointed out. "You....pick up on the music better as well."
"Miki, you are not that bad at formal dance," said Neysa. "As this is a gift for your parents it should be you and Rokko doing this."
"I intend to do that later. But I want there to be a little variety in the dancer displays. You and Rokko...'flow', for lack of a better term, well together."
"She wants to do this," Rokko whispered to Neysa. "And I have to admit it's a good idea."
"Very well", replied Neysa. "Let us position ourselves. I just hope we do not end up stepping off the edge during this."
"My position sense is good so follow my lead and we shouldn't have that problem."
They went to the center of the platform, Neysa picked up the hem of her dress on her left side, and the two assumed formal dance, waltz position. Miki tapped the release toggle on the side of the box and the key began to turn with the music following. The tune was familiar, one that Jacob and Rokki particularly liked. Taking the lead Rokko started off the dance. Miki looked on as her brother and nanny swept around and across the top of the music box. Neysa's skirt fanned out some every time they spun about. As the music progressed Rokko and Neysa became more and more involved in the dance. True to his word, Rokko kept the two of them from the edge.
"You are doing well," Neysa told Rokko.
"Thank you. I have a good teacher," he answered.
She blushed at the compliment. Then was surprised as Rokko pulled her close up against him.
"This is for two lovers," he whispered to her. "Lovers dance close."
Neysa blushed hotly at the other meaning she heard in his voice. The two of them had been just that for months.
Rokko eased his partner in against himself so that her head rested against his left shoulder. Her breasts pressed against his chest. He smiled, partially feeling the heat of her blush.
"You feel good," he murmured to her. "Think I'll keep you like this."
He resisted the desire to rub his hand up and down her back. Rokko did whisper sweet things meant for her ears only as they moved and swayed about. The music was nearing its end.
"I don't want this to stop, not for now," he told Neysa. "I have an idea; let's see if Miki catches on."
As the music slowed down so did the dancing couple. At the last note the two froze in position.
"Guys, the music's done," Miki whispered to the pair.
No response.
"Guys?"
Nothing.
"Ohhh!" Miki exclaimed, figuring it out.
Quickly she turned the winding key until it was fully tightened, pressed the release toggle, and the music resumed. And Rokko and Neysa went on dancing.
