Well, another brassy Legend of Zelda theme, this time, Kokiri Forest!
Not as good as my Brassy Song of Storms arrangement, but its still pretty good!
Theme copyright to original owner, whom I believe is Koji Kondo, but don't quote me on that!

Sibelius 5! And I use Garritan's Personal Orchestra for vsts.
I find Sibelius fun to use...once you get past the learning curve...but you're limited to notes typical of tonal music...
You see, I've recently been researching into microtonal music and they require all wacky kinds of intervals! Do you know a good program that allows you to use microtones? I've yet to find one...=(
Thanks for the compliment, btw...=)

I cant say I recall what microtones are, but I use FL Studio and although the sound quality isnt the best, it definitely lets you do just about anything :3 I'm planning to move on to using Audacity a bit more, though ^^;; I prefer to use real instruments, but I'm still trying to collect some more for me setup XP
It actually sounds pretty good...as you may have guessed, I'm very into dissonance and two quarter tones next to each other played at the same time gives off this really wierd, pulse-like effect...plus my favourite composer is Scelsi (not well known) and his microtonal pieces sound so awesome!!!
Scelsi's 'Anahit' is a prime example, the woodwinds and strings are doing it a lot of the time, about one minute in, you can just about here the pulse effect and about 3 minutes in, the woodwinds create the pulse effect!
I find dissonance quite fun to write, partly because I've been taught how to use it effectively! To some degree, there's a fair bit of dissonance in tonal pieces as well and I don't just mean non-chord tones. Did you know that the interval of a perfect 4th is technically dissonant? I only learnt that a few weeks ago!

Nice, well I'm sure Chipuni will do another lesson at some point...
If you want anything explained, I'll be more then happy to explain it as well, so there's that...
And there's getting some lessons outside of the interwebz...either is cool, your music is pretty good anyway!

I'd love to talk more on this on a messenger, since I dont wanna spam your page with this XD I got Steam, Skype, MSN, and YIM ^^;;

I'm slowly catching up with the music around here...
Logic Pro allows you to make microtonal music, though it's not easy: Every note in a scale can be retuned by -100 cents to +100 cents.
If you want more than 12 notes per octave (or more than 2 notes in a 100 cent range), you need to use layering: split the instrument into several tracks, record with one tuning, save a copy of the instrument with that tuning, then record the next tuning.
It works, but it's not easy.

Heh, well, I could do both if you want, but I am incredibly busy at the moment, so it won't be for a week or two...
I'll add Oath to Order and Bolero of Fire to the list of the stuff to do, but there's two 3000 word essays, two major compositions and two analysis' of scores to do first...:P
