This week's prompt was the word "Deduction" which means to subtract something, so this story here comes from personal experience, though each situation was months apart and not all in one day! It still doesn't alter the fact that I DESPISE the usage of some automated systems...

Hunter had just arrived home from another day at work; a frown upon his muzzle and his ears laid tight against his head as he tossed the daily mail upon the counter and hung his keys upon the key rack by the door.
“So how was your day sweetie? Long day at work?”, a sweet soft voice called from the kitchen.
“Hey, Am, work was fine…but afterwards, not so much,” he said in a sultry tone as he dug through the stacks of envelopes and magazines to reveal a yellow slip of paper with the word ‘Citation’ in bold black ink at the top.
“Why? What happened?”, the tan wolf stepped around the corner with a concerned look. Once her eyes rested on the yellow slip which he waved in the air at her, she too frowned. “Oh, you got a ticket today?”
“Yeah…didn’t see the bastard! He was well hidden as I went to pass someone who was doing under the speed limit, only to speed up as I went to pass them…”
Ammy approached the brown and beige wolf who now had become infuriated with the whole situation, and casually took the ticket and scanned over its print.
“You were doing 70 in a 55? Babe that’s 15 over!”, she protested giving him a glaring look.
Hunter crossed his arms and explained his case, “I told you the person I was passing sped up, I had to punch it just to get around him…if I had slacked off and not passed, the next time we got into another non-passing zone he would have slowed back down, and we would be back to square one. I was NOT playing his GAME!”
Ammy simply shook her head and sorted through the mail he had brought home. She understood where her lover was coming from, but even still it would have been better to be stuck behind someone doing under the speed limit than to be doing way over and getting a ticket, which resulted in a good hefty fine.
Suddenly she stumbled on a letter who’s return address indicated that it was from the Department of Motor Vehicles in their neighboring state. She knew with Hunter’s work he often had to travel to other states, but to receive a non-resident letter from the DMV seemed odd.
The brown and beige wolf pouted and fixed himself a glass of water as she opened the envelope. He watched as her eyes scanned over its content, before sharply looking at him and shaking her head in disappointment.
“What are you giving me that look for?” he asked taken aback.
“You got ANOTHER ticket?!” she said sharply as she waved the paper in the air, the crinkling and flapping sound cutting through the brief silence.
Hearing her words and tone and the utter shock of realization that he was hit with, yet another citation made him practically choke on the swig of water he had just ingested.
"Are…you kidding…me?!”, he cackled, choking and muttering the words.
As soon as he managed to catch his breath and set the glass down, he reached for the paper in her paws. Looking over the print revealed that a speed camera had been set in place along a back street and clocked his speed a measly 6 miles per hour over the speed limit.
In bold texts showed the speed limit and his clocked speed as well as a clearly defined, high definition picture of his truck’s license plate number and the camera’s location via street name.
“That’s bullshit! I always do 5 over and NEVER got a ticket for it! Those cameras are so radical, it’s unfair!”
“You never got a ticket for 5 over…until now!”, Ammy reprimanded, letting out a grunt before walking off, disgusted.
Hunter was utterly embarrassed! How could his day get any worse!? Two tickets in one day, was a humiliating prospect of his driving. He had always prided himself on being a safe, and ethical driver, but these citations showed otherwise.
“This is ridiculous! Not only do I have to pay yet ANOTHER fee, but that’s two cases in which points are deducted from my driving record! 4 from doing 15 over and now 3 for doing 6 over – that’s 7 points, and all in one damn day!”
“What’s bad hun, is if you get 12 points on your record in one month, your license gets temporarily suspended,” Ammy pointed out, calling out from the kitchen, “You better start watching your speed!”
Hunter mused at it for a moment. He knew about traffic violations and getting pulled over and handed tickets directly from cops deducted points, but he was unsure about ones from cameras. Those automated machines surely couldn’t deduct points, otherwise people would get their license suspended all the time for just doing 1 MPH over! How unjust would that be?!
While his beloved continued cooking dinner, he jumped on the computer and began to do some research. The point system was similar statewide, but the difference he found, resided in the usage of speed cameras. In some states he saw that the points accumulated 0-4 points per MPH over the speed limit, while others had no points deducted, or only just a few.
His heart began to race, and his paws began to sweat at the thought of his home state as being one of those to implement several points per MPH over, for even if he had 4 points from his ticket for doing 15 over, if the camera deduced 2 points per mph over, he would get his license suspended as that would be 16 points on his record!
He found the state from which the ticket originated and with his eyes trailing the row to reveal the penalty, he breathed a sigh of relief when he read that 0 points were deducted for speed camera traps; the only penalty for the camera, was the fixed $90 fine.
Hunter sat back in his chair, now relaxed, “Oh my god, babe! I just dodged a bullet…that speed camera ticket doesn’t deduct any points, it just has the fine…so I only got 4 points on my record instead of 7”
The tan wolfess dropped what she was doing and seeing that he was looking it up, casually stepped by his side to see for herself.
A smile crept on her face as she mocked him, “I’d say you did! You still need to watch your speed though!”
“Yes, I do, though really, I think I just need to learn where these damned things are, so I ONLY have to do the speed limit around THEM”, he joked back with a smirk.
Ammy slapped him on the shoulder and walked back to the kitchen, “Go ahead speedy Gonzalez, see if I drive you anywhere when you get your license suspended!”

Haha I had a laugh reading this one c: I've got a licence but no car, so I know the rules for driving and everything. I hear speed camera complaints all the time xD UK works differently for points but it's 12 just the same before a suspension and possible compulsory learning class xD the worse ones are the police van speed cameras because they're hidden away and move from place to place :P They're the ones that catch you!
I had a nice chuckle from this ^^ hehe good one!

Haha thanks so much, yeah speed cameras are a pain! They also have cameras on red lights and if you run a red light they’ll take a picture and send you a ticket. There’s an app called Waze which is used as a gps but also other people can mark cops, accidents, disabled vehicles and even speed trap cameras and it shows you were they are :)
It helps even up the game, lol no more hiding cops
