Endless Realms - The Servant and the Master
Artwork for Endless Realms, a D&D-like "pen and paper" fantasy RPG I'm working for. Lately, I've been working on a number of speed paints for an ER promotional video in the works - they mostly involve a number of backgrounds, but I was required to create a single character - someone powerful, someone influential, and someone with a vaguely predatory, power-hungry look. Maybe she'll show up again, or maybe not, but whoever she ends up becoming, I enjoyed painting her :) I hadn't originally intended her to come up looking so realistic, but I had been looking at a number of old paintings of nobles and generals for reference, so I'm pretty sure it must've rubbed off :b

Yeah, it was a speedpaint so I was frankly sorta zoomed out most of the time (it's easiest to get things looking realistic when you squint/are zoomed out), maybe I should have gone back and sharpened up a few of the details, but I was sort of on a time limit for these so I didn't want to spend too long on her by accident!
you definitely accomplished what you wanted :D
Its a good fusion of your artwork and old school painting
also... I know artists hate when people point out things sometimes... but looking at the large view, there's pretty noticeable shade circles around her right eye (the not scarred one) at both corners in my opinion... everything else looks really uniform though and lovely <3

Yeah, it's funny. I've tried doing old master's style paintings before but they never turned out until now, when I didn't really intend for it XD Also, I don't mind criticism :) You're right about the circles, though! I actually intentionally left them in because I tend to "over-airbrush" making things too smooth and plastic-like, so I thought leaving bits like that in would prevent that and give it a bit more texture. She could definitely use a teeny bit more refinement, sharpen a few details here and soften a few of those circles there, but for a speed paint I'm pretty happy :)
Thanks a lot for the compliment/critique!

Ya i'll have to agree your research on paintings on old nobles and generals really rubbed off on this one. It's a stunning piece I could see hanged up in a hall. I think she would be great for anyone's campaign. Starting out as a general for an army, but having higher aspirations so as your group goes through the campaign she ends up taking over the country you are in through a military cu.
