Went up to an airshow in Michigan, yesterday... It was the first one I've been to in years, and it was a blast. Most of the ones I used to go to around here are no longer around, which makes me a bit sad... *Flicks an ear* Regardless, I got to wander about with some friends, and took a few photos, as well. This being one of them.
If I recall correctly, these were on a Douglas C-130.

VERY cool! I think they are RATO rockets. Used for 'assisting' in take offs when you need more speed for a shorter takeoff or a steeper climb.
