I animate in tvpaint ! I used to animate in PS but it was not very comfortable. ><

*nods* yeah, I have tried TVpaint, i think? But i don't think it was free and it would not let me save anything in the trial, but I could be mistaking it for a dif one. I am probably just gonna end up buying it eventually.
AHHH. PS. yeah. PS has just always been waayyy uncomfortable to draw in. But it is possible, damn i see some amazing things from artists there... i just can't figure it out.

I have another one i was using... Pencil? And I LOOOOVE how simple it is to use, PLUS the automatic onionskinning. But. it's awkward af to actually draw in. AND. It does NOT let me save as a GIF or something similar. Instead I gotta upload individual PNG's of EACH FRAME. NO. NOOO. Imagine... 144 individual files.... no. don't.
And FLASSHH... i used way back when.. it ruined lineart and weird stuff, but I might pick it up again. What are your thoughts on flash for animating or any of these, for that matter? I mean, am I basically going to have to shell out the dough for something GOOOOOD?

But in the end it's just a question of choosing what more comfortable for you. you're right, I saw people doing amazing stuff in PS or even Sai! Flash is good! A TON of amazing animations was done there. But i find tvpaint more comfortable for frame by frame animation :|c

Yeah! Pencil is really nice for small things, but... idk maybe i am just ignorant on how to do things in this area yet.
I mean, I can draw the frames in another program, but I reaally like how PS and Pencil can let you animate it as you go. Few things are more frustrating than drawing frames up, opening them up in another program to animate, and then having to go back to the other program to do edits, all the while, not being able to see if your edits are really doing the JOB. back and forth, back and forth. That is what I don't want. And pencil is nice... but... again, the not being able to draw comfortably there... or save as a GIF. x_x
