This is *amazing* - you understand bhangra music which makes me very happy. i think it's kind of lost outside of those cheesy bollywood songs when it comes to bhangra in north america, but your piece here has this amazing, serious quality to it.

Thank you. Though I'm not expert on Bhangra. I just put these pieces together in a way that sounds good to me.
The majority of clips I used in this come from Bhangra Breakbeat sample collection, my Deepest India 3 CD set, and my World Pop sample set. Purchased those sample sets for the purpose of making music and as result of how the licensing works, while the individual samples don't belong to my copyrightwise, anything I make by combining them is 100% mine in terms of rights. Out of the thousands of samples on those sets, it took about 50 to make this song. Its like solving a puzzle...only what you have are 50,000 pieces from 1000 different puzzles and they're all in a big bag. Now...pull some out, put them together, and see if you get anything good.
Except you get to clone your puzzle pieces and repeat them, change their size, cut them into small pieces, etc.

How much does it typically cost to buy "sets" again? I'm still looking into programs like these to find good ones and affordability is the main reason I can't do this more.

This is ambient, it has good rhythm and it's way more inventive that any samples-made stuff passing on the radio. This, at least, can be called music. I like it and I wonder the effect it'd have when passing it at a party.

No, the music is more of a soundtrack for what I was thinking. In my imagining the drums represent the pack/group of wild things, then the other instruments representing their surroundings. So yeah, definitely primal.

I tend to use a mosaic of samples myself, though it makes for a very time-consuming puzzle. Nevertheless, this has a nice progression and continuity to it...

You know, if you run a search for "Bhangra" you are the ONLY name that comes up? This site is woefully lacking in music from the middle east.

Would love to hear you do more with these samples. I've had a lot of fun listening to this since it was initially released.
