Well, maybe not so mysterious, but I'm keeping to my usual habit of not dropping too many details till its done and had debuted.
This is a jewel fitting made by carving it out of a solid bar of aluminum.
By hand.
With files, a bench grinder, and much sweat and swearing.
I just finished shaping it tonight, and I am pretty proud of the final version.
It needs a bit of polishing, but I knew taking pics would be a royal bitch once it was polished...So I took them now, with the rougher finish.
Its about two and a half inches tall by around two inches wide.
Still needs mounting holes drilled.
