For ages this monstrous mountain has stood, a testimony of time and a warning, both wrapped in this twisted gnarled mound of earth and rock. Few have scaled its great height, seeking the fame and riches beyond any imaginable. Long ago a warrior, whose name has long since been forgotten, stumbled upon this mountain fortress, and in it he found riches beyond his wildest dreams. The mountains treasure consumed him with greed, twisting and warping his mind and body, till it no longer resembled anything human. The warrior, now a fool blinded by his precious treasure slowly became mad over the years, barely keeping himself alive as the mountain fed off his wasted shell of a life. For nearly a decade the fool defended his treasure, killing any who would venture to his keep, and descending into the heart of madness. Over those ten long years the fool constructed a golem from the raw materials given to him by the mountain, to ensure that his treasure would remain untouched, even after he was gone. With his dying breath the fool breathed life into his creation, which to this day continued to look after his horde. All those venturing to the mountains heart have never returned, all falling victim to the fools guardian. This tale is often told to children by their mothers, to steer them away from corruption and greed, as well they should, less they fall to a similar fate as the fool, and never know rest, even after death, as the fools soul still lingers at the core of the mountain, watching, and waiting for someone to release him from his mortal coils.
