That's actually one of those rare cases that she's seen outside of her "home". ;)
She was born inside of her aunt's belly (a giant plesiosaur, her dad's other wife), so she's not used to the outside world and prefers to stay inside, where is comfy, warm and much more alive.
(not to mention that she can communicate telepathically with her host and even share their sensations if they choose to)
On the one occasion that she did get out, she was cornered by terran monster hunters, but rescued by big Kari here.
Don't worry though - Mikhail and others were very supportive towards her and showed her how beautiful and lovely the outside world can really be. ^^
Nevertheless, she's naturally drawn to all kind of orifices and has a very "hands-on" approach to anatomy and physical examination. (she's the team healer)
