Well thanks to a friend from DA, I got into the Archaologic Platformer that is La-Mulana. I will be posting comics of my progress based on how often I play. A "day" will be composed of a single session in which I accomplish something of merit, which in this case is getting the Shell Horn. Yeah, I got it on my first day, natch.
And now, the "journal" accompanying this image:
Day One: I've finally found the ruins of La-Mulana! I set out from Elder Xelpud's hut and proceeded West-ward. I found that the snakes adorning the countryside were no major threat. That's when I ran into the vultures...
(I didn't realize that the LOAD screen would sound like an old modem going, so I panicked and reset the game. Three times...)
After getting my bearings, I headed East and found a path up the mountains. After getting further up, I looked around, wondering what to do next, when the sound of water came to me. I investigated and saw a glistening waterfall leading to a river. I decided to investigate and tried to cool off. I then learned that I could not swim, and had a fatal water allergy.
Determined, I made my way back up the mountain, and in a homicidal rage, proceeded to decimate the group of vipers and vultures. As my fury was venting, I noticed a lone treasure chest had suddenly sprung open. I claimed the Shell Horn before making my way back to Elder Xelpud's hut. I'll try to get into the ruins tomorrow with the aid of my colleague's journal.
