I've seen sooo many artists do this. Even in my most emo days I couldn't think about taking my galleries down.
1: too much work to do so. I readily confess I can be a lazy ass.
2: you usually return anyway, at some point, even if years from now
3: people forget about you while you are gone, or hate you for taking down the gallery.
