You lay in bed... your eyes red ...your heart aching.
Why? Why did they have to go...?
You feel the shadows around you...so empty...
Why can't they be here...just once more...

As you lay back you hold a pillow to your chest
The pain exceeds any wound you had ever obtained
And you know now that time could never heal this wound...
Why would anything take them from you?

And as you lay in the shadows, you close your eyes
In your mind you whimper their name...and reach out...
A cold hand takes yours....and you hear their voice...
"I love you....I always will"

The voice fills your eyes with tears
The frozen touch warmer than any embrace.
They were never gone...never taken...
All you had to do ....was close your eyes.
