Here is an abridged version of how my character Yume became who he is, someday i will get around to writing his whole story, but i am a long way from that. Done by

Yume used to be a normal human, who had a passion for Kendo and martial arts, until a fox spirit was forced to possess him. The fox spirit had its spirit jewel stolen, by a rival dojo member, and was commanded to possess Yume Imasu, and make him throw the upcoming match.
The spirit waiting until Yume was training alone to strike, only something went wrong with the possession. When the Kitsune attempted to possess Yume, the bodies and souls merged. Causing Yume to shift into a Human/Kitsune hybrid, and the Kitsune's spirit jewel to shatter.
During the transformation, Yume was in control of his body as it shifted. He was in a bit in shock as well as confused and terrified as his body changed.
Nearing the end of the transformation, the spirit jumped on the chance to take control of the body, though it was short lived. As the Kitsune took over the body, an elder, who was trained as an Onmyoji, came in. He saw the Kitsune and acted fast as he pulled out a sealing slip, and attempted to lock down the spirit.
The spirit reacted by grabbing an old black Bokken from the mantle to defend himself. Only grabbing the bokken pushed the Kitsune's consciousness back, giving Yume control again, right as the elder finished the spell. The spell sealed both, Yume and the Kitsune in the nearest sacred object, the Bokken.
It wouldn't be till MUCH later that the two souls would be released, still in the same body, and even longer till they would adopt the name Yume Kitsune, as their tolerance of each other would grow into that of mutual respect.
