Spotlight
Behold.
I've been wanting to do something like this for a while--make or draw a character that represents my mental illness and various other Bad Brain inconveniences. I think it will make drawing how I"m feeling easier some days.
This is Spotlight. The ghost of my OCD. I named him Spotlight because of the illegal poaching practice of shining a light in a game animal's eyes and blinding them so you can shoot them and because of the figurative spotlight my OCD puts on asinine things. He is incredibly starkly lit from the front at all times, plunging any extremities that aren't facing the viewer into darkness and has few details beyond his wide searching eyes and the nick in his ear. At times he can appear as a projection on flat surfaces. Other times, I'm sure, he can free float. Whatever the composition of the drawing calls for.
When he's backlit, shit is Bad.
I haven't yet explored what effects my medicine will have on this character's design or even what color his 'lit' side is. Another thing, I think, that will just change from drawing to drawing.
His personality is suspicious and self-congratulatory as he feels he is doing nothing wrong besides keeping me safe. Or whatever the hell HIS idea of safe constitutes.
