Personal Daemons… everyone has them, in all their different forms and varieties, be they Fears, Doubts, Tempts, or whatever. I personally find myself attracted to studying Fears, since they’re usually the easiest to notice. For me anyway. I’m lucky that I can kind of see them, most people can’t at all. They feed off of people’s fear, so they each have their own unique ways of inducing that emotion in humans… sadly for them, it must be true fear, otherwise, it proves quite fatal to them. Enjoyed fear, such as that in amusement parks, though it attracts them, often results in their deaths. Thankfully, I live well enough away from any such places, so the Daemons I study are free from that taint.
I spotted a wandering Bone Chiller today… Usually they stick to their person, so a loose one is always a worrisome sight, since Bone Chillers cause the most fatalities. Odds are that he froze a patch of road at the end of winter, and caused its person’s car to spin out of control. It’ll wander until it finds a person who has no Bone Chiller… and set up a territory around that person. I doubt it’ll stick around long though… my own Bone Chiller’ll chase it off, I’m sure.
Mine likes to freeze the road in front of my driveway in winter…. he’s good at what he does though. He manages to scare the tar out of me, but it’s not bad enough to cause anything too horrible.
Either way, if this other Bone Chiller doesn’t find a person soon, it may set up residence in an old dilapidated home, or perhaps a cave. Many paranormal investigators interpreted Bone Chiller breath as a ‘cold spot’ indicative of ghost activity. Rather, it’s just the bone Chiller trying to get them all worked up.
Bone Chillers certainly are quite large, much like Bogeymen. This one was probably four feet at the tip of it’s tallest spike.
Either way, I hope it’s on its way soon. It’s probably spooking the other Personal Daemons.</I>
This is a critter from a book project I’d started way back in high school/early college… and s/he happened to be one of my favorites of the lot: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5392836/
