can you elaborate a little in your trick here, it looks cool and I'm really interested : )

oh sure, for the forked lightning I drew the wiggly lines then duplicated the layer three times. I did a gaussian blur on all of them at different intensities, i think the bottom layer was at 40-50, second at 20, and third at 10? I set the top two layers to add/glow and then went in with a pure white on another layer above those, again with that topmost layer set to Add/Glow. I painted in all the tiny superintense streaks and sizzles!

I did a similar thing with the Orb, except with a circular layer underneath with a mild gradient on it. On that one I also used a light airbrush on a layer below the lightnings set to Add/Glow to create the cloud of ionized air around him and near the ground!

I see, the thunder part I kind of imagine that that was the trick, but the air brush with add/glow, that is a new one for me! : ) thanks for shearing
