Soooo...I met Strype at AC... ...yeah ... OMFGITWASAWESOME!
Heh, sorry 'bout that, anywho, we met up and hung out for a while and eventually decided we're gonna make sketchbook trades. Strype got to draw in mine, buthis sketchbook was with someone else at the time and I had to leave before it came back, so we agreed I'd come up with some'n when I had the time, which just maks me all the more comfortable, because I feel my pencil work has degraded quite a bit and would not stand up to his...
Sooooo...Strype and Coop sittin' around on a lawn outside a spaceport in a random locale, taking a more down to the ground look at the stars sparkling above them than the one they might when they're flying around in them.
Ironically, the background took me longest on the entire picture X3
I realize the contrast is a little dull and dark, I might try to mess with that when I get back home to PS, but I'm rather happy with the outcome either way. Hope you two enjoy it as well =^-^=

I always get off on how you draw military architecture. You placed the warning lights very elegantly :D I think the ones that are missing on the upside, are simply supposed to be embedded into the "roof". (..?) Of course that powerful un-sci-fi engines (with which I mean that it seems like a lot gets just burned in space and time small in relation to the burst and lead towards the outlets, cough) are nice too. 1. I guess you had way too few time for everything you wanted 2. the floodlights behind the vessel are missing xD
Also, the "little ramp" reminds me strongly on the superhighways of Tokyo three, and they still are pimpy, below that thing. (its not as big as the shws but I like to imagine it, because it fits better into the picture xD)
What I like most is that it is not so shatteringly obvious that they might sit on a cliff. (as I saw the grass, a meadow simply "came to mind" it`s kind of a direct thought like "exactly unlike that high-tech material". Would strengthen the impression of that worldy viewpoint to the stars..

Really cool man. I realy like this one. Mostly for the background, it happens a lot to me what you mentioned in the note, that to draw the background takes more than do the characters. =3 But if you ever looked around in my stuff ya sure know why. Anyway the contrast is fine to me, the only thing I could give as an advice if you realy wanna change something is to try to chose a lighter blue the down part of the night sky. Mostly for two reasons. Firts it looks better if the whole night sky is not from one tone. and second. The lights of industry and particularly city lights to are reflecting back around city's and such environments and make the nights sky a lot brighter. I know I can see the lights every night of the near city above the hills. Like if you look to south there is dark and stars are shining realy bright, now if I turn and look to north all I see is a huge light spot. That's what the environmental activist call bright pollution.
Heh, I avoided puting more light in than I already had, mainly because I can't foresee how the picture will look on other screens.

I see this, and I imaginge the far off noises of the starport. Engines prefiring, Antigravidics humming, people moving, goods vehicles loading, unloading and bustling about.
