Back to Venice Beach, and our little walk. KaniS and I were wandering this fascvinating little back alley that was a lovely fenced sidewalk that went between houses with no road. Little touchs from the residents were evident all over, including little random mosaics placed into the sidewalk for no other reason than that it was pretty.

I spotted this lovely gent resting on a fence and managed to get a good picture before he flew off. Identifying this species turned out to be easy- he's so vibrant- a lovely, healthy-looking Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta)
