Oh dear; I seem to have been possessed by a Chimp :) Nah, not really; I just thought I'd take the opportunity to show my little Halloween purchase, though one I'm hoping will serve quite a few purposes beyond the 31st of October. This is a chimp mask by an American company called "CrazyParty" (I'm assuming they're from the U.S, or Canada, because they had a small feedback leaflet in the packaging that offered a small gratuitous token for leaving a review, and the currency was in Dollars, not Pounds), and so far I'm very impressed with it. The hands were a separate, purchase, and I deliberately decided against buying any feet accessories for a reason that'll become apparent when I get round to doing the next photo I have planned with him. So is this my new fursona? No. I've only called him Randolph the Chimp because, being a Furry who enjoys writing, I've created an entire character out of this simple mask, and plan to do a proper drawing of him when academic work eventually gives me a break.

I think they are indeed different brands of mask; looking at the one you have, the mouth and nose are slightly more accentuated, and the eye holes slightly bigger. Durability-wise it feels pretty good, actually; a damn-sight better than your typical, cheap supermarket Halloween mask, and if my arts and crafts side (that I currently don't think I have xD!) decides to make itself known, I do have plans to truly make this mask my own by adding things like new hair, and such (I think DjembetheApe is doing a similar thing with his mask).
I was surprised by the durability of mine too, its not that flexible thin rubbery type of material that most masks in stores seem to be made from. Its sturdy
thick plastic that doesn't cave in on itself or crumple if its set down without something inside of it to keep its shape. I ordered it online so it was hard to be sure what it would turn out like, stock photos always look really nice and then the actual product can be questionable. I'm really happy with it though! It sounds like you are with your's also, which is great :D
I do think Djembe said something about working on the fur of his mask. I'm excited to see how it turns out, and your's also if you do end up giving it new hair! I've considered incorporating a wig or something to give my mask the bangs that my fursona and I have, but I decided against it in the end. You guys are braver than I am!

The stock photo-real life dichotomy thankfully stopped me purchasing the mask I had in mind. I was after a Gorilla mask, initially (as I do slightly prefer the aesthetics of a gorilla to a chimp), and I found one for about £10 that looked quite good. I was about to buy it, but then I looked at the Amazon user reviews, and one user had posted a photo showing what it actually looked like, and...wow xD! The kindest thing I can say about it was "very tacky". This one, though, came exactly as described and since buying it, I have warmed up to the aesthetics of a chimp considerably xD!
I think, out of myself and Djembe, he's far more likely to actually put his ideas into practice, as I'm currently head-down in academic journals for my final Undergraduate year of study at University, so free time is certainly limited right about now.
