You can see the lines on the leaves - the marker was giving up on me and I was so scared it would run out that I hurried up the colour. Markers are fairly easy to get the basics of, but you need good markers and good marker paper for best results. Right now I'm working off a 7 dollar (Canadian) kid's set :D

The key is to really lay down a good thick layer of ink, which is why you need so many shades and tones to do a good job ... right now I've got about 16, but they're fun to play with.

But I'm saving up.

I have a lead on some copics ... it's gonna be a while before I can justify the purchase, but one day... one day...

the price sure does hurt for those, but they are awesome and completely worth it!

Probably late to the conversation now but copics are awesome, I started using them and I have much less of a problem with streaking. What kind did you end up getting?

Mostly Prismas, with a few Ciao markers for skin tones. Copics are the dream team of markers, but up here they cost an arm, a leg, your firstborn, the cat and a lean on your future earnings. :D SOMEDAY I'll make the move to copics... someday.

lol yeah they cost about that much here too. I started with just a small set and had my dad get it for me for my birthday. Now I just buy them one at at time at Hobby Lobby but each one is about $7. It adds up fast.
