Though MH3U was so much harder to play on the 3DS haha (Because swimming was a pain w/o the second analog stick, since I only had the basic 3DS)


I been playing Stories a lot tho, partly because it looked cute and the turntaking rpg genre was one I grew up on (Dragonquest~) but also because of the monster friends <3 Having my fav mons beside me just felt so good.

omg, I bet. Some games are just hard on the 3DS since most were normally meant for consoles. I have the Flame Red 3DS xD

it looks so gosh darn cute. If I wasn't saving for my new car, I'd get all of them Monster Hunter games xD

And it definitely showed them flaws on the PSP games haha, the camera controls were terrrrible. Like, you weren't just fighting the monsters - you were fighting the camera itself too D:
3U's problem on the 3DS was just swimming more or less. Because the camera and movement was all in three dimensions rather than just two, it made things very tricky - even on the console.

I had a few 3DS'es, the first one I got was a Japanese import and had a Dragonquest skin on it, the second one was also a Japanese 3DS and was just a plain old black, but it had a capture card and USB port installed onto it. That's how I took those videos I linked to~
I did eventually get an English 3DS to play 4U with my friends (Who kept hounding me about it xD) but ultimately I decided I didn't really like playing the games co-op, and pretty much just continued on solo.


I mostly ended up playing Stories after that released hah, and when I was losing hope it'd be released in the West I ended up selling my English 3DS since I only really had one game for it (MH4U) and didn't really play it anymore (Mostly 3U and MHX). Nintendo announced a western localization for the game not a week later. The irony was as amusing as it was painful

And yessss it's adorable as all can be <3 The one thing that'd make it even cuter is if you could interact with your mons like they do in the anime. They had a race at one point, and how many times do they pat Rathy on the snout?? He enjoys it so much why can't we do the saaaame ;v;

Just being able to ride around on your favorite mons already feels totally awesome though ^^ Really hope they do more with this concept (And on the game's anniversary, they did say they wanted to do more. Just gotta hope they actually do so~)

I have 2 of the PSP ones, but those I never got a chance to play yet. I just got them a few months back for cheap xD

That scene though aaaa, Rathalos pokes its beak through the egg then the rest of him follows and then he's roaring and stuff with an eggshell still on his head aaaa

Was a scene late in the game's story where a rathian wraps her wings around her rider to shield him from an attack, it was so neat to see really~

I did pay her back with a 18x24 pastel drawing of her OC. I gave it to her and I also caught her by surprise lol xD

I couldn't stop smiling at that scene ;v; THe eggshell on his face while roaring was the best thing ever. It happens near the end of the game and while on its own doesn't spoil much of anything story-related, I'll let you decide if you want to look or just wait to play for yourself (A vague summary is a monster protecting its rider from an attack by wrapping its wings around them)

I'm hoping they add more to the game; I mean today they're releasing a 1.3.0 patch to add some stuff to go along with the new anime episodes, and when the game had its 1 Year Anniversary - which had a cute pic accompanying the announcement http://raethalis.tumblr.com/post/166131344417/ - two of the producers stated they wanted to keep doing stuff for the game, so maybe ;v;
Whether or not they meant the 3DS game or the Stories concept as a whole I don't know. There's the anime and then there's the "Monstie Drop" mobile game (JP exclusive) as well as the 3DS game both of those spun off of (A spin-off with a spin-off of its own haha). What's unfair to me is that the mobile game has Agnaktor, Glacial Agnator, Valphalk, Mizutsune, Raizex, and Gamoth in it while the naknak duo ARE in the 3DS game they can't be hatched as companions :<
So I'm hoping they implement them into the 3DS one at some point too~ (I'd guess Agnaktor would be a Rarity 5 and Glacial a 6 or 7)
