Inktober day 24 : La Catrina and Santa Muerte
2 of the most famous figures of the Día de los Muertos. Santa Muerte is the saint skeleton Vatican doesn't want to recognize as such and stands for the religious aspect of the day, and La Catrina is the more partying, colorful, pagan aspect.
I like to see them as sisters, La Catrina being younger but taller and an excited party animal who loves to take care of herself and has no responsibility and Santa Muerte being older but smaller, serious, stuck-up and very religious trying to put her little sister on the right path.
