I realized in my earlier drawings of child-Haze&Kane, I needed to take a step back and rethink their designs. I'm so used to drawing young grownup characters that my child-characters just looked... off. I felt like I needed to draw a little ref, to get a feeling for it.
I hope I got it. I stared with the portrait and worked from there. I'm quite happy with how Kane turned out.
By the time that Kane and Haze first meet, Haze is eleven and Kane is thirteen. Kane has always been a strong and hardy kid, but with a positive attitude that inspire his surroundings. Later this gave him the nickname "Sunshine"
