What's with the weird rubbery "ribbed" details on the sides of his torso? And for fuck's sake, give him back the damn shorts, and make them a functional or visually appealing part of his leggings. If he's wearing a belt, make it a real belt, one that goes through actual, functional belt loops at the top of the leggings(the shorts). You can make the other parts of his suit brighter red while the shorts are a more muted red. And stop making the belt-line a ridiculous banana hammock line. "Supes" is an alien superhero who was raised on earth and represents the best in all of us(in character, anyway) and his suit is a combination of homages to both his Kryptonian heritage and his Smallville, Kansas upbringing.
His suit was, in many definitive canons, made by Ma Kent out of the stuff that came with Kal-El in his escape ship as a baby.
I'm pretty sure that Clark's Kryptonian mom would have made sure that her son would have a means of mending clothes going with him to earth. She and Jor-El were upper-crust scientists. Needle and thread are essential in survival on distant planets when needing to sew up deep wounds. Mothers think ahead like that.

But I digress. TL;DR, my Superman symbol and head-canon are better than the schlock DC and WarnerBrothers have been cooking up recently. And I hate being right.
