Not long enough. Not for Blue Linehart anyway. It will be her third year (she was only 14 when she first joined) staying at Hogwarts and it seems things only get worse each year. She never wanted to attend in the first place but her parents forced it onto her. She couldn't fight them forever so she finally gave in, along with an exception, she was allow to wear a boys uniform instead of a girls. Seeing as her parents have donated heavily to the school, they allowed her this one thing.
She was accepted into the Hufflepuff house but certainly not welcomed. She comes off a shy loner type and was quickly branded an outsider by the other students. She has not been able to develop a single friendship in the last couple years, though it's not to say a few didn't try to befriend her. She has become sour and tends to believe people have bad intentions behind their friendly smiles.
She tends to keep to herself, drawing and playing with her rabbit Afro. She likes her Transfiguration and Charm classes the best and is failing in Arithmancy. She does very well in Muggle Studies since she is muggle-born. She is often the target of bullies and her free time is spent in her room.
She always loves watching out the train window, as the world passes by.
Thinking, hoping.. that this year will be different..
I wanted to get at least something out before tomorrow! Just a quicky sketch.
Im not going to lie, I totally looked off of a shoe to draw that one.. I hate drawing
shoes T_T .....Yay for loser harry potter fans!

It is an amazing shoe, and I love the bunny. ^..^ The whole piece is great.
The Potter geek in me must ask though, as I'm no buff on it, aren't the school uniforms the exact same? They *all* wear white collared shirts, knit sweaters and ties. Oo Anyone can wear pants if they want, the guys aren't allowed the option of skirts I assume. XD And the robes are all the same, rather unisex. Oo'

Looking into it, I'd have to rewatch the movies. But from memory, Hermione is the only chick you ever really see with her robes open. And she does tend to wear a skirt. But at the same time, she only ever wears a skirt to the dance otherwise. And I have a hard time believing *that* many chicks would willingly take flying lessons in a skirt, regardless of dress code. Maybe I'm filling in too much and it's portrayed like the stereotypical Japanese school girl outfit, which is ALWAYS a skirt, granted these are longer. Oo
HP is based on English school uniforms, which I've had to wear and when I was at school I had to wear a knee-length or a bit shorter skirt. It took us 4 years to battle with the council to let us wear "pants" (trousers). It's interesting for me seeing people draw their version of the uniform, because obviously being english myself I know the typical traits of the uniforms.
I am not an HP fan, I have watched one of the movies and it was alright, cute concepts, but I never managed to settle in to reading the books. I started one and I was quickly put off by it for some reason. Can't explain it.
Anyway, the shoes in this definately wouldn't be allowed over here. We have strict rules about footwear. So annoying. Uncomfortable leather flat lace-up shoes are usually allowed, sometimes they let you wear slip on shoes (loafers i guess...).
School uniform here sucks cuz it's really really hot in the summer. :<
Anyway, I like the image btw lol sorry for my rant Blue :3 I think it's cute how she's slumped, and especially think the rabbit is a cute touch.
My sister and loads of her friends are watching the premiere tonight :3 Fun fun!

Hahaha it was a few years ago, but it was crappy that when you're going through "growing up/puberty" and feeling a bit self conscious as a girl, you have to bare your legs to all the boys when they judge you and stuff, you know? I hardly wear skirts, I think skirts look great on people, but I am soooo shy about my legs so.. Yeah (spamming up the submission here ftw) But anyway XD! The other classic piece of uniform here in england is the BLAZER. Oh god. Even in 30C heat, we were wearing that bloody Blazer. I think They have Blazers in HP too, with the badges sewn on the pockets like I had at school. But I'd have to to go do some research :P
I don't think they have to wear blazers for school in the movie. But they do have the long sleeve shirts, covered by the knit sweaters. I want to say they're sleeveless unless it's winter, but I'm not sure. They do have blazers, but typically they just have the sweater vests covered by their robes. Oo' I just downloaded the first five movies. XD So at some point here I'll do some research.
At a certain point kids 'should be able' to be trusted to act so maturely. But with the way kids have gone between middle school up to high school. I wish they'd make *all* children in those groups adhere to a strict dress code, if not actual uniforms. I am sick to death of twelve year olds with boobs wearing hooker makeup, skits that show what they *claim* is not their ass cheeks, but everyone knows exactly what they're looking at, shirts that hardly cover their Bs and Cs and god forbid, I've seen them naturally larger on kids under fourteen. As for the boys? Much less, but I figure, bangs or not, if I can't see their eyes, they need to be smacked. Also, if they can't take a step farther than a foot without their pants falling down.. well, I got by an old teacher, if it happened, they tucked in the shirt, pulled the pants as far up as they could go comfortably, ductaped it all up and tied a rope around their waist. If they tried to remove it before school was out they would get detention. ><' And now, my rant is done. XD
Well, opinions differentiate, and so on, but I personally think the best way would be to simply say "Don't act like an idiot, or we'll get you for it." Then, of course, there's the question of what constitutes idiocy, but that's another question.
The Main reason I've heard put in use over here when schools have wanted to put uniforms into use has been that it would stop the kids for bullying each other over clothes, but IMO that's just another way of saying that the school officials want their job done for them.

I went from public school, to private, and back to public. And the uniforms did make a difference on bullying. Granted the private school was smaller with pretty much all rich kids just absorbed in their next drug score.. It's not really a matter of idiocy at all, except on the rather rare occassion. The 'style' in school is to look like a street whore, I assume in a *lot* of schools, just in this area I know of three schools the girls have taken that path. It only takes a couple of 'cool' girls making fun of others to transform the style, and it's horrible to see children look that way, more so with the earlier development. I absolutely hate going out with my friend's little sister now, she's only 13 and I see the 30+ year old guys drooling over her barely covered cutt and C cups and she just doesn't *get* it. ><'
We need life education in school :P
And true, bullying is a very real problem, but taking away the reason isn't necessarily taking away the problem.
If they're bullying each other over clothes, the solution shouldn't be making everyone dress alike, that's just averting your eyes from the deeper issues.

I agree, but the underlying problems are many and typically not things that just anyone can do much about I think. The girl I know needs a pop to the mouth, some *real* rules, and a few less $1000 birthdays, Christmases, and spending money whenever she wants it. ><' My own 17yo sister could stand close some rules too, she's a divorce baby. And I digress. The causes are many and far between, not something a school can or should be expected to remedy. It's good to know that the ones who grow up and go to college and do the best they can tend to move away from that stuff. The ones who do just enough or turn into real.. bleh, I just sorta hate that they bring more life into the horrible lives they've created for themselves. Self perpetuating in too many cases.
I'm sruprised she hasn't run into -my- HP fanchar Student...
Arianna is a loner as well, and she gravitates towards other loners, even if the 'social circles' of her classmates (because she gets good/decent grades) pull her away from the loners.
I need to draw her one day :|

As o ne who does try to draw shoes correctly, I say you came a lot closer to nailing the typical Converse-esque canvas sneaker than a lot of artists. Few would think you had trouble with them from this pic.
Everything else is just as good or better. The detailed sepia-tones look very fitting, given the description .I spotted this on someone else's favorites, and just had to take a look.
(also I have one of the HP train sets :) )
