When you rotate a picture the 'cheap' way, pixels don't actually switch places, but the rotation/orientation ist stored in the pictures meta-data (EXIF, IPTC, ...)
Unfortunately doesn't seem to interpret it correctly.
To fix it you probably need to rotate in a proper raster graphics editor. (Like Photoshop or GIMP)
