Somehow, this got lost from my gallery. I might have removed it, but I don't remember when or why.
Did a quick re-color to show that he is brown and not black or grey.
Bio:
Species: Giant golden-crowned flying fox/red-backed salamander hybrid
Age: 22
Height: 6' 10"
Weight: 210 lbs
Fur color: Dark Brown
Hair color: Red-orange
Skin color: Orange, speckled black (wing membrane, tail)
Eyes: Deep red
Special bat attributes: Excellent hearing/sight/smell, flight, five toes, elongated forearms.
Special salamander attributes: Long pink tongue (13") with small pad at the tip.
Other: Eija is a mesotherm
Gender: Hermaphroditic with both male and female lower anatomy(not shown); however, he does not have child-bearing organs (no uterus or ovaries).
Personality: Shy, somewhat introverted, socially awkward, but kind and once he makes friends, trusting. Speaks always in a quiet voice.
Likes: His tree in the park, situated in the middle of a large city, somewhat like New York. Loves fruit of all kinds, but especially loves oranges and orange juice. He loves to climb up brick walls (looking sort of like a gecko as he moves). He enjoys sunning himself in the grass or at the top of his tree. Loves to fly.
Dislikes: Hot peppers, the city, his brother, loud noises.
History: Eija was born in the clan of the Day Moon tribe of giant fruit bats. The tribe is situated on a large remote island. It is somewhat of a complicated story between his parents, though in the end, his father (the salamander) was killed as the Day Moon tribe does not approve of outsiders on their island home, claiming that he tainted the Great Sister (his mother, and one of the leaders of the tribe).
The tribe since then denies any wrongdoing on their Great Sister and life went on. When Eija was born, he was not given a name, though the tribe also did not blame his being born. He was taken care of to an extent so that he would live, but as Eija grew to about age seven, the tribe began to ignore his existence, as he was not fully of the tribe.
At age fifteen, one year before tribe adult age, he was sent away, but not before his mother secretly pulled him aside and gave him six silver rings. The rings are inscribed on the inside. They contain magics pertaining to necromancy, though Eija prefers to avoid using this power.
Cast out of the tribe, Eija is forced to live in a very different place: a city. Now instead of not existing, he is always noticed, and he becomes rather confused, having grown up expecting not to be noticed. He does eventually get the hang of city life, to a degree, though he cannot find a real job as no one really wants him around because of his strange appearance. He sometimes does errands for people who seem to need the help, flying things from one place to another if allowed. He earns clothing and food in this way, and bunks down in a tree in the city's park. He generally tries to keep to himself and not socialize, as he is not sure how to do so.
