Yeah, vampires do deserve to be scary - they are one of the great classic monsters of horror fiction, after all.

...Which doesn´t mean they can´t be a little exaggerated and cartoony, of course. ^^

Interesting, maybe blending the original Dracula with this tradition...the vampire can walk during the day (as in the original), but at night turns into this more monstrous form.

That´s one of the cool things about iconic creatures such as vampires and werewolves - you can always come up with variations of the classic formula while keeping the base concept recognizable.
