I'm of the opinion that governments are a tricky thing. Yes, they need a certain degree of 'power' to make sure that the legislature that PROTECTS the people is enforced, but if that power gets to broad or too secure (without proper checks and balances) it corrupts.

That reminds me I have to go back and read this part.

Not to mention I do enjoy your opinion comics. I wonder why you would consider yourself a liberal when you seem to be against gun-removal and pro-criminal removal.

On government, I offer a quote:

Keep the government small and weak and it is an excellent servant. Let it grow large or strong and it is a terrible master.

I don't remember where I read that, nor can I say for sure that it is a direct quote. But that's how I remember it.

Could be George Washington, he also said something along the lines of: "Government is not eloquence or reason, it is force, like fire, a dangerous servant and terrible master." He might have said that too, or Thomas Jefferson did.

Actually, I believe it was a science fiction author, it might have been H. Beam Piper. Possibly in his novel, Space Viking.

That would make this a 'teaser,' a way to entice us to buy the book. "Here's one story from the set, want to see the other stories? give me money." It's the American way.

I like your...diatribes, for lack of a better word. You've never denied being human (flawed) in your remarks, and there's always an angle I haven't looked at myself.
