I don't think I have heard this story.

It's nothing serious, just last night I went to a remote deserted bus stop with no lights, as I stand waiting in the darkness, I look over my shoulder only to find someone one meter behind me staring me right in the eye.

Rude. This is something I've been pondering when I'm out on night-time walks: how to keep from spooking people? Obviously (well, not obviously to this asshole, apparently) you shouldn't stand too close to people, but if you're going the same way as them, keeping some distance might be worse. I think in general I try to pass people by, that way it's pretty obvious we're simply going the same way, or else be a healthy distance, but plainly visible, like on the other side of the street. Is there some sort of book on night-time etiquette? Cus I feel like one might be necessary.
