Amaranth, who's practically perfect in every way!
For the thirteenth of the month, I was once more stumped for a theme. Thinking about tomorrow, the 14th was also a bit bare for themes. The only thing I could think was how just saying 'the 14th,' to me evokes thoughts of Feb 14th, Valentine's Day. So I planned to post a number of romantic things tomorrow. But I have a large number of them, so some spill over into today is called for.
To that end, let us observe the digits that make up the number 13 and see that one is less than three, or: "1<3" A convenient heart has appeared! And, now that we're looking at the <3 as a heart, '1<3' appears to be a symbol meaning 'One Heart,' which is a pretty romantic phrase.
It's no secret that my naga Amethystine and Ama's mantis 'Asazaki Nae' have been shown, in the past, as an item, a couple, a duo, partners, significant others, a pair.. even lovers. (Let me be clear, though, it's merely the characters, the real me and the RL woman who is Amaranth are just friends with separate offline lives. We just
-love
-making
-fictional
-couples
-together!)
To that end, I dedicate both the 13th and the 14th of October to Ame & Nae, and to their relationship. <3

The first picture in this mini-love festival is something so simple, yet so sweet, I have treasured it ever since I got it, right around Valentine's Day, 2015.
Ame and Nae, holding hands. <33333
(Also size-difference, hnggg)
Thank you again, Ama. I love you.

My mind is like a rabbit that jumps on a trail and allows one thought to leap after another.
This put me in mind of a coldblooded hand reaching for a warmblooded one; that, in turn, reminded me of Batman: The Animated Series episode "Heart of Ice" where Mr. Freez is introduced. His last line--and the closing line of the episode--was this monologue he addresses to a statuette of his wife in a snowglobe:
"I failed you; I wish there were another way for me to say it but I cannot. I can only beg your forgiveness and pray you hear me somehow: someplace where a warm hand waits for mine."

Those were always the best episodes, in terms of actual tragic romance. TT__TT
My fave episodes were the Clayface ones, though, because I love a metamorphic villain.. but also because of his tragic circumstance, which was mostly shown in the third one, where he had gotten close to that doctor woman who was trying to cure him.
Anyway, thanks for the fave! :}

Yesss, the size difffff, and the lovely contrast of their species and colours, too. :>
I think this was the haiku where I wanted to make the middle line shorter than both the beginning and ending lines, to refer back to the large encompassing the small (a mantis in a snake's coils comes to mind).
Also, thanks for the fave! :}
