It was also made non-canon, which kinda sucks - cause it showed people who weren't Belmonts wielding a hunter's whip that implied others could take on Dracula besides some people like Sypha.
That said, Dracula's curse made someone into... well, not a man. As we all know, a man is a miserable little pile of secrets.

Plus, Circle of the Moon suffered from a few poor design decisions, like how the game never really explains what all these cards do (ie, making you deal more than 20 damage to enemies with 300 HP), and makes them all random drops. :/ It was fun, cause it felt like I was moving much quicker than Symphony of the Night. Adremalech was definitely a frantic boss.
And hyenas are not a miserable little pile of secrets, they are a barrel of laughs. ;)
