It is most likely that, she's over thinking it, as a mix of her still wanting the few good things that she remembers about him, and that she wants him to be a permanent fixture in their son's life, so - If he has changed for the better, it makes sense in her mind to; give him another try, given that she still almost surely hasn't noted that him and Lobo are an item.
