Still alive! Just posting a small teaser on progress!

This piece has been fun to work on. Very draining with already five, or six? all nighters averaging in sessions upwards to 10 hours on this prototype, but fun! I have to be careful when it comes to days I work though, no good having me tippy and woobly all over the place helping customers!

I can't say enough how meditative it is cutting all those feathers and placing them where they feel right. I'm almost at the stage where I can start painting the accent hues onto the body to pull the head design into it. He's getting pretty hefty in the process, and it's rather fascinating feeling how the paper absorbs the glue and hardens into a sub-structure over the body like an exoskeleton!

Final shots will be done properly with a real camera, and not my phone in the wee hours of the morning!
