Foraging - art by Raesheris, tale by Ame

It's the tenth day of the month, and this crocodile-komodo-dragon hybrid taur named Ehmyt Taseni is my tenth character. I made him with
Amaranth in March of 2015, after she had made a new, desert-dwelling mantis named Saa a month beforehand. Here's my folder for them.
And, just as with Ninian and her plantish python from yesterday's posts, Hyst and Kazi from the day before that, and with Accuvier and Ília from the the posts on the 6th, Ama and I plan on doing a full story with Ehmyt and Saa, one day. Their world is majorly developped and the story is more or less laid out, with some parts already written, and others explored in previous art that Ama has done (and posted! Check out her 'Shattered Illustrations' folder).

"No, no! Stop! You're ruining all of them! Let me do it, you giant clumsy oaf!" Saa shouted, waving her arms, although she was careful to keep her hands within the long sleeves of her crimson robes as much as possible.
"Oaf! How dare you, you ungrateful little pest!" snapped the huge crocomodo taur, who had been stretching up to put his hands on the tree. As he balked at the little woman's insults, he was giving up on harvesting the tiny flowers that bloomed on the exceedingly rare plantlife, and lowering back down.
"I won't be such a - as you say - pest, when I get all of those down without flaw." She said, walking over to Ehmyt's rear pair of legs and putting her hands on her hips, turning back around to look at him impatiently.
Ehmyt growled briefly, a gutteral harumph of a noise; he could just tell that Saa would never forget him calling her pest. He had called her other things, and she hadn't let any of those go. Frustration was plain on his face, for he knew she was right about the delicate blooms. He and his claws were too big for such careful work on the fragile flowers. Worst of all was what he had to do now, though.
"WELL?"
"Fine, fine!" the big tauric reptile huffed, flopping down fully into the hot sand, laying out his tail so that it curved around from his backside directly to the girl's feet.
With an overly-sweet 'thank you' that was clearly meant to aggravate rather than express gratitude, the tiny mantid turned and ascended Ehmyt's rearmost appendage like a ramp. It was as if it was built for her, which was all the more annoying to Ehmyt.
"You're going to have to--"
"I know, I know," he sighed, and lifted up his hindquarters as high as he could on his short legs. Hiking his butt up in the air, how degrading.
After some time, Saa came to stand behind Ehmyt's upper back, leaning on him a bit, trying to get into the shade he made.
"Uh, can I.. to get the upper ones, you know, I need to go higher.."
Another heavy sigh from the crocomodo's expansive lungs that are housed in his lower half. "Yeah.."
Reaching behind himself, he helped her climb his back and stand on his shoulders, straddling his neck somewhat. For a few more minutes, Saa's tiny nimble fingers worked to retrieve the beautiful blooms.
After she was done, he helped her down. She showed him the bag full of pristine, gorgeous flower heads.
Slowly, he smiled and told her she had done a good job, and she smiled back, thanking him for letting her stand on him.
Off they went again, into the vast expanse of sand, the little lady tucked behind his torso, in his shade.

They were thrust together in an unfortunate circumstance, and became very unwilling travel companions for a time, usually at odds.
Eventually, they got along, and even later still, they became a couple. So, it wasn't a matter of attraction as you may have thought.
Still, I'm glad you like them! :}

Haha, yes, Aruc should do that. :}
Alright! I'm glad you're so into Shattered. Unfortunately, it hasn't had any new development for a while, but I hope you'll enjoy all that there is, for now. <:
