A trio of characters for a project I've had rattling in my head for some time, and am working up the gumption to finally get down on paper. A lot of how these guys look is still very WIP, but this picture has been sitting on my computer long enough that I may as well toss it up as is.
Three suburbanite gnolls from a modern-day D&D world, doing their best to spread havoc and mayhem wherever they go. Centuries of modern living have turned many of the monster races complacent, and these three have fallen a long way from the cackling hellbeasts of Yeenoghu that were their ancestors. The three spend their days performing heinous acts of evil (petty pranks and mischief), dealing with their obnoxious adventurer neighbors, arguing with the omnipotent Dungeon Master in the sky, and doing their best to survive in a world that's done its best to adapt to everything that wants it dead.
Stew: (concept by
luprand ), Despite his massive size, even by gnoll standards, Stew is the gentile giant of three. Lazy, cheerful, and good-natured, he often acts as the voice of reason, and the one who often has to pull his friends out of trouble when things inevitably go pear-shaped. Trained as a bard, he finds music and spells to be a better use of his voice than hyena cackling.
Julienne: The de facto leader of the gang. A rude, crude gnoll with a fuse as short as her stature... Though given her Napoleon Complex, it's best not to mention that. Though her attitude leaves much to be desired, she's fiercely loyal and perhaps a tad too willing to kick an ass or two to defend the honor of a friend. Packing the rage of a barbarian, and the leadership qualities of a warlord, Julie makes do with whatever heavy objects she can pick up and swing.
Lager: Shaman, potion brewer, alcoholic, and team wild card. Lager is a filthy, unhinged caster with a fascination with alchemy, and an unfortunate tendency to get blitzed on his own product. He's far from the sharpest tool in the shed, and he's not always safe to have around with whatever new brew he has in his belly, but he's damn good at what he does... Even if what he does mainly consists of explosions, fire, chaos, and laughing maniacally at all of the above.
