Heh. The problem with hanging out with someone more conventionally attractive in a place where you might flirt with strangers... They unintentionally steal all the attention and/or make you look like a "worse" option. Hmm... I'd like to see more situations where that's subverted. Like, the audience fully expects the conventionally attractive person to be hit on, but then their "less attractive" friend is hit on instead. I think bear-centered works have done this at some point, and I think the Gabshiba team did jokes along similar lines of logic... Like when Gab vastly preferred his then-boyfriend to wear construction worker garb rather than the sexy apron.
