HONESTLY though, they at least gave it Wild Charge and all but still needs a buff in movepool--or even a decent recovery move actually (other than Resto-Chesto I suppose). Its defenses aren't too bad really, I run a SPDEF Slowbro and it only has +10 more SPDEF and HP than Lux. It would pair well w Guts I think, just thinking how it takes a lot of damage if you use Wild Charge + whatever it takes from opponent. Tho I use walls a lot so I think defensively more than offensively >wob

I hear you, I've been trying to build luxray tons of times on Showdown and it always falls short somewhere. The minute you think a build is gonna be viable, something crops up and ruins it, whether it be lack of recovery options, lack of coverage, lack of priority outside of quick-attack, poor stab, speed, etc. It gets to a point where you just try the wackiest stuff imaginable, just praying you find that one niche that it doesn't have.

The best I ever did with Luxray was about Six years ago on Showdown, where I used it as a lead in a team with Skarmory to lure out magnet-pull magnezones and then used superpower to nab a quick kill.

I just take one look at OU mega-Manectric and think "what could have been" y'know?
